Annual Report

The Annual Report showcases the achievements and glories of S.G.N.P.S. during the previous session. It also makes us appraise our efforts and ponder upon our shortcomings. We set standards and goals for ourselves and strive to achieve them – be it in the area of academics, sports, discipline, leadership and more. We feel proud to share with you some highlights of the year gone by.

ACADEMIC RESULTS 2022-23

Achieving academic excellence is at the heart and soul of our endeavour as educators.

Excellence in academics is the hallmark of our school. We are proud to share with you that in the session 2022-23 the students of X and XII brought laurels to the school with their remarkable performance and excellent results in CBSE Board Examination. In Class XII, Science stream, HARSHDEEP SINGH made us proud by securing an imposing score of 96.4% marks, the second position went to JAGJOT SINGH with 93.6% and the third position was bagged by HARSHITA ARORA  for securing 92.8% marks. In CLASS XII commerce stream JAGJOT SINGH secured first position with his score of 93% marks, the second position went to SIMRAN AGGARWAL for getting 91% and the third position was bagged by NIKUNJ GARG who got 90.4% marks.

 

The students who have passed class XII have secured admission in various reputed colleges and institutions of higher education across the country.  We wish them all soaring success in years to come.

In class X CBSE Examination, session 2022-23, our students

achieved exceptional results. The school topper, ANIKET THAKUR secured an awe-inspiring score of 96.4% marks, followed by SAVREEN KAUR securing second position with (94.6%) and SOUMYA JAIN getting the third position with 94.2% marks.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Co-curricular activities facilitate the development of various domains of mind and personality.

At S.G.N.P.S., students get diverse opportunities for shouldering responsibilities and honing their talents during school life. A wide range of cultural and co-curricular activities undertaken within and outside school encompass the fields of games and sports, dance, music, art, dramatics etc.  

 

SPORTS ACTIVITIES

We encourage our students to participate in various inter and intra school

competitions and provide them opportunities and guidance for the same.  The aim is to help students understand their strengths and identify what skills they need to expand further to create a niche in the vast and wide world waiting to recognise them.

 

RESULTS OF ZONAL LEVEL SPORTS COMPETITIONS:

 

  • Bharti XIIA, Vanshika Kakkar XIIC and Aditi Gupta IXA got Second position in the Table Tennis competition in the Sr. Girls category.

  • In the Table Tennis Jr. Girls category, Himanshi Ken IX A, Harsha IXA and Diksha IXA; got Second position.

  • In the Table Tennis Sub-Jr. Girls category; Khushi VA, Mahi Noor VA, Jaskirat  Kaur VA and Dakshita Lalwani VA got Third position.

  • Piyush Kr. Sahu XIIA, Manav XIIB, Deepanshu Sharda XA, Vansh Dahiya XC and Harsh Wadhwa XC ; got First position in the Table Tennis Sr. Boys category.

  • In the Girls Chess tournament; Bhoomi Chandel XIIA, Harshita Arora XIIA and Rashi Sethi XIIB; got Third position.

  • In the Sub Jr. Girls Chess tournament; Akshita Arya VIIIA got First position .

  • In the Under 10 category Chess tournament; Christine Dhawan VA got Third position.

  • In the Sub Jr. Boys Chess tournament; Sarthak Deshwal VIIIB got First position and Zoyaan VIIIC got Third position .

  • In the Under 10 category Chess tournament; Sarthak Panchal VC and Smarth Sharma VC got Third position.

  • In the Sr. Girls Volley Ball tournament; the school team got Second position.

  • In the Volley Ball Sub-Jr. Girls category, the school team got Second position.

 

OTHER ZONAL/INTER SCHOOL COMPETITIONS:

 

  • Aniket Thakur XA and Vanshika XA got Second position in the Poetry Writing and Poetry Recitation competition ‘Igniting Young Minds’; held at St. Xavier’s School, Delhi.

  • Ayush Thakur VIIIA got First position in Jr. Boys Hindi Extempore Zonal Competition.

  • In the Sr. Boys Zonal English Essay Writing Competition, Aniket Thakur XA got Third position.

  • Hargun Kaur VIIIC, got Third position in the Jr. Girls Zonal Poster Making Competition.

  • Jagjeet Singh VIC got First position in Jr. Boys Instrumental Music Zonal Competition.

  • In the Sr. Boys Vocal Music Zonal Competition, Aadil Khan got Third position.

  • In the Jr. Girls Vocal Music Zonal Competition, Khushi Godiyal VIIIB got Second position.

  • In the Sr. Girls Zonal Punjabi Poem Recitation Competition, Savreen Kaur got Third position and in the Jr. Girls category; Shubhpreet Kaur got Second position.

  • In the Jr. Boys Zonal Hindi Slogan Writing Competition Jr. Boys category, Sonu Dobal got First positon.

 

G20

EXHIBITIONS AT SCHOOL

A grand PTM-cum-G20 Exhibition was organized within the school premises. The event aimed at sensitization of the students and the parents about the aims and initiatives of G20 in making our nation and this world a better place to live. The students of classes IX to XII contributed relentless efforts, intellect and innovation in capturing the prestigious theme of G20, sending out the message:  ‘ONE NATION, ONE FAMILY, ONE FUTURE.’ 

The exhibition received massive appreciation by the parents and was a wonderful learning experience for the students.

 

IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS

 

“DEVELOP PASSION FOR LEARNING, IF YOU DO, YOU WILL NEVER STOP GROWING”

 

In keeping with the school’s policy of continuous upgradation of knowledge and skills, our teachers attended various workshops and seminars organized by the school so as to improve their academic skills and to update their capabilities in various pedagogical arenas.

 

 

  • A Capacity Building Programme was conducted for the teachers on the topic-‘Stress Management’. Rivera Kaur, TGT English provided a direct experience of the most useful relaxation techniques to be used in the classroom and beyond. Participants also had the opportunity to focus on emotional intelligence and emotional regulation as powerful skills to cope with stress

  • Happiness Curriculum Workshop for the teachers was conducted with a view to sensitize teachers about the importance of stress-free and joyful classroom environment to make teaching-learning process more efficacious and impactful. School Counsellor, Ms. Damini, enlightened teachers about ways to initiate happy classroom teaching methodologies.

  • ‘Good Touch, Bad Touch’ awareness session was organised for the students of classes I to III. School Counsellor, Ms. Damini made students aware about body science and sexual offences.

  • Mental Health Webinar was conducted for the teachers and students to commemorate the World Mental Health Day.

  • Cyber Safety Workshop was conducted for all teachers and the students of classes VI-XIII. Ms. Honey Kaur, H.O.D. Computer Science, shared useful insight about ensuring safety while using various social media platforms.  

 

SCHOOL FUNCTIONS AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES

At SGNPS we strive to bring about holistic development of the students. To achieve this goal, we create an atmosphere of happiness and togetherness by celebrating all major functions and occasions

 

  • The TRINGA was hoisted with the spirit of immense patriotism on the occasions of the Republic Day and the Independence Day. The students put up an enthralling cultural programme as tribute to the freedom fighters.

 

“ALL RELIGIONS, CULTURES, AND BELIEFS DESERVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF RESPECT EVEN IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOUR OWN.”

 

  • We inculcate among our students the respect for all religions and cultures. Together, our students rejoiced the celebration of HOLI, DIWALI, ID, CHRISTMAS, GURUPURAB, ONAM etc. This way we contribute to the society by making it more secular and tolerant.

 

  • On the auspicious occasions of the Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji and Sri Gobind Singh Ji, we took immense pride in propagating the transcendental teachings of the two great prophets who uplifted the mankind with their unparalleled wisdom, humanity and insight. Nagar Kirtan, Kirtan Darbar and Langar were organised by the school authorities. Mass participation by the enthusiastic students on these occasions was overwhelming.

 

RECREATIONAL PICNICS AND EDUCATIONAL TRIPS

 

“PICNICS AND EXCURSIONS MAKE THE BEST SCHOOL MEMORIES”

 

Picnics and Educational Trips are intrinsic part of the teaching learning system. Such outings make great bonds of joyful understanding among the students and teachers.

  • The students of classes III to XII were taken to Adventure Island for a recreational picnic in the month of December 2022.

 

  • The shortlisted students of Science Stream, under the mentorship of P.G.T. Biology, Ms. Harleen Kaur, attended ‘Mendelsym;’ a symposium commemorating the birth anniversary of Gregor Mendel, the father of Genetics. IARI, Pusa Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Delhi; was the organiser of the symposium. The visit was a great learning experience for the students.

 

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS:

SMART INTERACTIVE BOARDS:

At SGNPS we very well understand that integration of technology in education is the need of the hour. We can’t imagine achieving educational goals for our students unless technology is adopted in every school system. Hence, we got our classrooms equipped with smart interactive boards.  It has massively facilitated the teaching and learning process at school.  Our teachers are given regular professional training to use smart boards effortlessly for the benefit of the students.

 

 

Many a milestones have been achieved and many still have to be reached.
